Uncovering the truth about what’s happening to Wales’ wild places.

From wildlife crime and habitat destruction to failing environmental protections, we investigate the issues putting Welsh nature at risk.

Combining investigative journalism, conservation expertise and evidence-led research, we ask difficult questions, challenge those in power and expose the problems that others overlook.

Our investigations

Through investigations including One in Five, we’re uncovering the pressures driving wildlife decline in Wales and exposing what needs to change.

We follow the evidence, challenge complacency and turn complex environmental issues into stories that demand attention.

Our first report; “Protecting Wildlife from Wildfires and Illegal Grassland Burns’ has revealed evidence to suggest that illegal grassland burning is taking place, and that there is a huge data gap in the reporting of such events. Wales is the UK’s ‘Wildfire Capital’ and the damage to wildlife is unfathomable. Things must change.
