The Next Generation
We support young conservationists in joining the fight for Wales’ wildlife
Investing in the people who will protect our future
Conservation needs skilled, passionate people ready to tackle the environmental challenges ahead. But gaining practical experience and finding a way into the sector can be a significant barrier for those starting out.
Wild Cymru works with students from Bridgend College to help develop the next generation of conservationists, providing opportunities to gain experience, build skills and contribute to meaningful work for nature.
This is about more than learning in a classroom
By connecting students with practical conservation and the realities of working in the sector, we help them develop the knowledge, confidence and experience they need to take the next step.
Over the years, students who have worked with us have gone on to secure placements and jobs within the organisation. Their progression demonstrates the value of creating genuine opportunities for people to learn, contribute and build a career in conservation.

We believe the future of nature depends on investing in the people who will protect it
By supporting emerging talent and helping open doors into the sector, we can strengthen the conservation workforce and build the skills needed for long-term environmental recovery.
